So there are 5 weeks left until I return back to the U.S. and shocking to think how fast time flew by while abroad. Within these coming weeks, I will be country hopping; Portugal, Hungary and Austria.
The weekend of November 18th, I visited Lisbon, Portugal. While in Lisbon, I visited Belem Tower, Jeronimo Monastery, Se Cathedral, and Rua Augusta Arch. My favorite place in Lisbon had to be the Belem Tower because of its Gothic architecture and the tower is situated on the Tagus River.
The following week was Thanksgiving and I decided to visit Budapest and Vienna. In Budapest, I visited St. Stephen’s Basilica, Hungarian Parliament, Buda Castle, Matthias Church and Heroes Square. My favorite monument in Hungary was the Parliament building because of the ornate and elaborate architecture, and because it is situated on the Danube River, which looks amazing at night.
In Vienna, I visited the St. Stephen’s Cathedral, Belvedere Palace, Karlskirche, Votive Church, Rathaus, Austrian Parliament Building, and Hofburg Palace. Vienna was very beautiful and lively because every major plaza was decorated with Christmas lights. My favorite attractions were Belvedere Palace, Hofburg Palace and the Austrian Parliament because of the Gothic architecture. All in all, I could not think of a better way to spend Thanksgiving weekend.
