Exactly two weeks until I’m on a 10 or so hour flight back home. I feel a little bad for the stranger sitting next to me because if they try and make conversation I might not stop talking about the fact I’m going for the rest of our flight. Oops. Now that Netflix lets you download videos for offline streaming things might go differently, though. With finals in January, I should be using that time to study a bit, but I’m going to stay realistic here.
It’s crazy how quickly the semester is coming to an end. I had started a countdown to my return home at 50 days and now there are just 14. The days have gone by fast but now that it is getting closer things are slowing down. Everyone is in the same boat and you can tell. Classes are a lot emptier each passing lecture and we’ve all suddenly developed the attention span of a squirrel.
One thing that keeps us all somewhat normal are the Christmas Markets. I knew Germany was big on Christmas, but this is amazing. Usually the markets are filled with multiple wooden cabin-like “store fronts,” and they sell anything from sweets to ornaments and hand knit beanies. It’s all really cute and fighting the cold with Apfelpunsch or Kinderpunsch in hand is always a plus. Very ready to spend Christmas back in Florida though, even if it’s not as extravagent as here.
