A couple weeks ago, my sister came to visit me in Ireland. She arrived on a particularly cold Sunday, at about 10 am. I met her at the bus stop and we went to a cafe in town and I showed her what the town was like a bit. That night we ended up going into Dublin and just eating dinner because we were both really tired, her especially.
The next day she enjoyed sleeping in, while I went to class. But the next day she explored Dublin more than I’ve had time to thus far. That Wednesday, we finally made it to the famous Cliffs of Moher. They were absolutely breathtaking and it was fun to have that experience with my sister – even if the bus ride was 4 hours each way.
Fast forward to Friday morning, we left for Barcelona. Ryanair flights are always nice and crowded but I slept throughout the short flight. Upon arrival, we made it to our airbnb. I as starved, so we went out and enjoyed tapas. I never realized how obsessed I was with olives until this trip to Barcelona. The weekend was spent eating, visiting the Picasso museum, and seeing the sights of the city. It was quite beautiful and another fun trip to go on with my sister.
We got back on Sunday morning and that afternoon we went to the Guinness Storehouse. It was a walking tour, a little boring if I’m being completely honest, but still interesting. At the end, you can go up to the 360 degree bar where you can see the city and enjoy a free pint of Guinness. Obviously that was the most fun of the tour.
My sister left that Monday. It seems crazy to think that I will be leaving so soon, but I am also so excited to see the family and friends I haven’t in 3 months. And eat the foods I have been dying for that do not exist in Ireland.
