This past weekend I took my very last trip out of Ireland before I go home. Before I get into that, can we just talk about the fact that I only have one and a half weeks left here?!? I definitely feel like I have been here for basically my whole life, but that doesn’t make me any more ready to leave. I am so excited to be done with the academic part of this experience (so so very excited…did I mention so excited?), but I never want to stop traveling like I have been fortunate enough to do for the past 3 months. I’ll miss that for sure.
Anyways, Spain. Real Madrid is my absolute, die-hard, favorite club soccer team, so this trip has been long awaited. I met up with Arden (from Rollins, hey Arden) on Friday and we got some food and went to our Airbnb for the night. The next day I went on a tour of the Santiago Bernabeu stadium and it was everything I had hoped for and more. I saw the field, went in the players’ dressing rooms, walked through a museum of the history of the team, and got to walk out onto the pitch where I always see my favorite players from my TV screen in America. It was incredible.
Arden came back to Ireland with me and went on some adventures of her own (unfortunately I am in the middle of finals so I couldn’t go along). Now I have less than a week left and, even with allĀ of the papers and labs and tests that I have this week, I still don’t want to leave.
