Hello,
Welcome back! From my last post, I informed everyone I would take a “quicky” (quick trip) in the following week to visit my friends in Rome before their departure from Europe. Shortly after my first exam, I prepared to leave for Hamburg Airport on December 13 to catch my 6:40 am flight. Once I landed in Rome, NOTHING felt better than being welcome by my dear friend, Kelly Farrell (hello friend). She took such great care of me and showed me around Rome while we ate pasta, pizza and a lot of gelato along with other Rollins fellows. Three days were too short but I was so glad to see my friends before the holidays. Coming back to Germany, it hit me how much I fell in love with this country. The culture, lifestyle and the traditions thrill me! I could honestly see myself getting my Master’s in Germany. At the same time, sadness hit me. I would have to leave this country behind in two days. 48 hours. 2880 minutes. Left. In addition my last four days would consist of taking exams, packing, signing “Abmeldung” forms, and eating all the Bratwursts I can find.
I miss my family of course, but turns out Germany felt like home with only one luggage of belongings.
