Hi, My name is Marina Rivera, I am currently studying International Relations and Political Science at Rollins College. I have been given the opportunity to study abroad this upcoming semester spring 2017. For me, this is not only a chance to discover new places and meet new people, this would be more like a chance for me to see the world with a new perspective. A man once said,
” The real voyage go discovery consists not in seeing new places but in seeing with new eyes”
I could not agree with this belief more. I am a firm believer that every person has a different background, together with their own unique identity, and everybody has experienced life in different lights. With this said, This is what clearly makes cosmopolitan cities like London, and traveling amazing, because when you put a vast array of knowledge, skills and different people together, the results would be a life-changing and it will impact your life in ways you have never expected. Therefore, going abroad would not only help me gained new knowledge about the world, but it will ultimately shape my life with every difficulty that I may come across, such as getting lost in a city, taking the wrong train, being a tourist, and attempting to conquer the so-called: “Londoner lifestyle” by drinking tea as my daily water.
I want to thanks the people from International Office for giving me this opportunity, I would do my best to embrace every obstacle and come back to Rollins with new eyes, that way I could contribute more to the Rollins Community and put in practice what I learn in here.
See you soon, Folks.
Love, Marina.
