I cannot believe that I have been in Ireland for 6 weeks! Where has the time gone? Learning more about the Irish culture, meeting family, and making new friends has made this an incredible experience so far. Classes are starting to pick up and are really interesting. While in Ireland, I have also been able to travel to some beautiful locations. This week I went to an amazing seaside town called Howth. Howth is located right outside of Dublin so my friends and I took the train into Dublin and then the DART to Howth.
We went to Howth on a Saturday, so there the local market was in full swing. Local craftsmen set up stalls throughout the market and were selling everything from locally produced foods to handcrafted jewelry. There was so much to try but I opted for the best fish and chips from a tiny stand. The fish was so fresh that I am pretty sure it was caught that morning in the harbor. We also decided to take a hike up the mountain on a cliff path trail. While it was tricky to navigate the path in the mud, the views of Dublin Bay were absolutely stunning!
Howth is a picturesque fishing town and I would recommend that everyone studying in Ireland go at least once!
