I was unable to visit Portugal for spring break, and oddly enough, returned to the U.S. for the week. It was nice seeing my family and friends, although certain circumstances weren’t ideal. I was, however, able to make my way to Rollins for a couple of days before returning to France, and lucky enough to see all the great friends that I’ve missed during my semester abroad. It was funny to see that not much has changed, although most of the seniors are getting ready to graduate. I must admit that I miss Rollins more than expected, but I’m learning a lot in Aix, and have become accustomed to the lifestyle.
For this upcoming weekend, I’m traveling to Paris on a field trip with my religion class (The Children of Abraham). We will be visiting: Islamic Art Galleries at the Louvre Museum, the Basilica of Saint Denis (the birth place for Gothic Style), Sainte-Chapelle (famous for its stained glass windows), the Cathedral of Notre Dame, the Great Mosque of Paris and the Institute of the Arab World (IMA). Dr. Masarwa, the professor of the class, is both knowledgeable and passionate about the subject, so I’m sure the weekend will be informative and entertaining.
