During orientation week in Queenstown, Brandon, Kendall, and I went on a supposed 8 hour tramp up the Ben Lomond Trail. Luckily, we are freakishly healthy young men who were able to get the peak in under 3 hours and we were able to save our energy reserves for the trail down. The views were absolutely stunning. In order to get to the Ben Lomond trail you would have to either take the gondola up for $30 or walk up the Tiki Hut Trail, which is about an hour and a half tramp. Naturally, the inner college student in all of us said we’re not going to pay and we’re going to walk it, which is what we did. The video I posted is from the top of the Tiki Hut Trail. Here they have many different tourist attractions from a restaurant, to a jelly belly store, to a chairlift that takes you up a hill for a luge ride. On our hike we didn’t do any of these ‘fun’ things, we just filled up our water bottles and kept on trucking. On my phone I made an easy to follow photography journal of the hike up but i have not been able to figure out how to upload the full document to this website. I will keep trying to do that. The hike was fantastic and ended up totaling around 15 miles! See you next week.
