I never thought that I would be able to spend St. Paddy’s Day in Ireland. Dublin goes above and beyond to celebrate the holiday. There are parades, music sessions, and plenty of drinks and merriment. I had a great night with friends! The weekend was made even better by the arrival of my family. They flew in for St. Patrick’s Day and are staying for a few days. It has been cool to be able to be the tour guide for my family and tell them about the cities and country that I have come to really love. Over Paddy’s weekend we went to Galway to see the Cliffs of Moher. It turned out to be more like the cliffs of mist because we couldn’t see anything! The weather was really poor but we were able to save the day and walk around Galway city. Galway had a bunch of really cute Irish shops and local musicians who play music in the streets. Some of my favorite shops are those which sell local, handmade goods such as beautiful sweaters and jewelry. So far it has been really nice spending time with my family and being able to show them around Ireland.
