Time in London seems to fly by. I find it hard to imagine that I have been here for a number of months at this point. This monumental city has actually begun to feel like home. I’ve grown accustomed to the red double-decker buses and the rumbling of the tube underneath my feet, and I find the buzz of the city to be energizing and enlivening. There is always something new to see or do. I’ve composed a list of various sites and activities, and it seems as though every time I cross something off, I discover an additional ten things along the way.
Just one of my favorite places in London is the Sky Garden on Fenchurch Street. Amidst the jungle of glass and steel near Liverpool Street, this flourishing oasis of green perches atop the city. A large balcony allows guests to view the grandeur of the city from the perspective of the birds. The River Thames flows ever on underneath the proud span of Tower Bridge, while trains snake along tracks and automobiles wind through streets in constant movement. Prodigious and soaring, the Shard pierces the skyline with its glittering arrays of glass and mirror, brilliant in the setting sun.
