For this blog post instead of talking about my current experiences in London, I will like to provide study abroad tips for students who are planning on studying abroad in London one semester. Before going abroad the tips I receive from friend or peers who had study abroad or travel to London help me a lot while being abroad in London. By writing this post I hope I can do the same for someone else. So in the blog I will provide five tips that will be useful for anyone who wants to study abroad in London base on my time being abroad in London this semester.
Tip 1: Look into the university, network, or whatever institution you plan to study abroad through to see the extracurricular activities they may offer. This helps you with getting more involve in the institution you are studying with and helps you with meeting people you may not know.
Tip 2: I know if you study abroad in London you will be looking forward to traveling to other parts of Europe in your free time. However, try to make time to explore London too. London is a very diverse city that have so many free things to do. Since being in London, every weekend I schedule time to just go explore two boroughs of London. I have no itinerary or plan of things to do, I just hop on the tube and go.
Tip 3: Try to visit all the Art Galleries or Exhibit in London because most tend to be three and usually have cool things on display!
Tip 4: If you want to save money when it comes to trying to contact friends and families that are back in the United States do not add a international plan with your phone company. Instead download the phone app WhatsApp, it allows you to talk, text, and video chat people all across the world. In order for it to work the people you want to talk to also need to download app and when you use it make sure you have WiFi or data. When it comes to WiFi most local shops, restaurants, and cafes have free WiFi.
Tip 5: Getting lost on the tube is normal. Do not expect to understand how the tubes work after one week of being in London. After being in London for almost three months now, I still have times where I get lost on the tube!
