Just a few more weeks into this adventure and I find myself sitting in a natural hot spring overlooking sunset and enormous mountains…”where am I” is really setting in. It wasn’t as if I blinked myself to this gorgeous spot though.. it only took a 5 hour hike through what looked like absolute dinosaur land, over boulders, rivers, and suspension bridges to get there. Yes, it was intense to say the least, and absolutely worth it. The ice blue waters were breathtaking, it feels (and tastes…!) exactly how it looks. The most refreshing ice water I’ve ever come across! After that break it was three more hours of sweat and dreaming & talking about how badly we wished endless pina coladas and daiquiris would be waiting for us at the top.
So we didn’t exactly get those things..but what we did get was an awesome night meeting and hanging out with people from all over the world! Slovenia, Germany, Canada, Alaska, and more- everyone had a story to tell. This weekend really showed me just how big this world is. Literally.. I’ve never felt so small among such massive mountains and wilderness, and I love, love, love meeting people from all over because it reminds me that whatever “bubble” people often find themselves in, there’s new friends and relationships just outside of it, just by saying “yes” to new adventures.
