This semester really flew by, my time in Ireland is one that I will remember for many years to come as it is my first experience abroad by myself. Studying abroad has been a valuable experience for my life.
Adjusting back to everything back home will be a little difficult, as everything in Ireland is close enough and public transportation is so plentiful everything is within reach in Ireland. I met a few Irish people who added to my experience by sharing their stories with me. The Irish people are definitely one major part of Ireland that I will miss the most, everyone I met seemed friendly and willing to talk about anything, anywhere. Looking back at my identity and values, I do believe that my positions have remained the same but I have come to realise more about other peoples’ identities. Learning about the experience of the average Irish person is helpful for me to build up an idea of the identity of the Irish people, and compare it to myself. Growing up in the United States, I believe that I experience the world in a different way than people around in the world. I have learned to value many things that I have back home that I took for less before I left for Ireland, and this experience has brought that to light.
