My verano experience so far has been amazing.  I find it so interesting how different the culture is and overall atmosphere is here.  It has been quite a culture shock adjusting to the different types of food, timing of meals, social tendencies and most importantly the language. I love how meals are longer and more relaxed with lots of small plates. i try to use Spanish whenever i get the chance which has made the most impact on how much I’m learning and how fast.  I love how lively people are especially at night.  My homestay family has been nothing short of welcoming and has made it easier for me to adjust.  They make sure to correct me with errors in my speaking.  I really enjoy most of the cultural activities and how they’ve helped me find my way around and know where to go and what to see.  Even though Madrid has been great, Im excited to travel more and explore new cities while I’m here.
