Similar to my first 3 weeks in Madrid/Spain, the last 3 weeks were awesome! By the time week 4 rolled around I felt as if I had been living in Madrid my entire life. This made it a lot easier when planning out my days and meeting up with friends. It also allowed me to explore places I had yet to see within the city. During the final 3 weeks I was able to travel to Barcelona and Candelario. Although Barcelona was a blast I really enjoyed Candelario. It was nice to go to a town that had less people than my high school especially after being in such a big city like Madrid. Being able to disconnect was something that I really enjoyed and appreciated. Candelario was one of the most beautiful places I had ever been to. I think the coolest part was that Candelario is not somewhere I would have gone had I not been with the group from Rollins. While we were in Candelario we got a chance to visit the abandoned town of Granadilla. The views from the castle there were amazing and it was cool getting a chance to walk around a town that was perfectly preserved yet empty. My time in Madrid/Spain was great and I’m very happy I was able to go on this trip.
