One of my favorite things about being in Madrid has been the ability to explore European and Spanish fashion. After wandering through the many streets filled with shops and boutiques, I have found that the fashion here is quite different than that in the United States. Something I’ve observed about European fashion is that their clothes are quite simple and classic, making it easy to mix and match different pieces in order to create various outfits. Since moving here, I have bought a couple staple pieces, such as standard t shirts and vintage jeans, and have been able to make a hand full of fun and cute outfits just by simply adding a necklace or tying the bottom of a shirt. In addition, I’ve noticed that the Spaniards put a lot of effort into their outfit each day, even if it is simple, they are never caught in a sweatshirt. Since I started attending classes I quickly learned that it is not appropriate to wear athletic clothes to class or out to lunch, where in America that is my go to wear at Rollins.
