One of my favorite cultural activities that we had to complete was going and visiting the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, the home of Real Madrid. Being able to visit the stadium of one of the best soccer teams in the world was incredible. We started the tour walking through the Real Madrid museum, filled with past trophies, pictures, jerseys and artifacts dating back to when the team was first created. Being able just to look through this museum would have been enough for me but then we walked through the stadium, into the bleachers and down into the Real Madrid team bench, which was actually about 20 Audi car seats, it was amazing to sit in and imagine a game being played with thousands of fans cheering around you. I have also never been inside of a soccer stadium so it was interesting to be able to see just how big the stadium is compared to the field, especially being able to go down and stand on the field and look up at the stands. After sitting on the field we then walked back inside of the tunnel where the team walks out of and into the teams locker room. Here we were able to see all of the players lockers with their pictures on top of them, the coolest locker was Ronaldo’s. We then walked through the training rooms and into the team press briefing room. This was also a very interesting room because you were able to go and sit behind the huge desk and take pictures. You always see this room on the news and on Tv and it was so interesting to be sitting where famous players and coaches could sit and talk to the press. This was an amazing activity to be apart of because of the insight on parts of the stadium that not many fans get to see.
