Hola a todos!
My name is Catey McCray and I am a second year student at Rollins. We were having some issues getting my account set up, typical, but I am excited to finally upload some insight into my trip! Much of the before consisted of packing up the things you would usually bring with you for a semester at Rollins, but only in the quantity of three suitcases (less than 50 pounds) and two small carry on bags for the flight. Most of the room was taken up by clothes of course, but when studying or traveling for long periods of time it’s important to only bring one or two of each type of item so that you save room (which I did not do, LOL).
Instead, I brought all my favorite bomber jackets and shoes and enough of my favorite clothes to get by while still allowing room for 3 months worth of shampoo and shower necessities!… or so I thought..
**Disclaimer** turns out last minute re-situating of the biggest suitcase you have is not a good idea at 5:00am before you leave for the airport… guess who may or may not have put all of her shower supplies in her carry-on-luggage. Hah… yeah me. And no, this was not even close to my first time flying. I’m what you’d definitely call a seasoned vet. But, nonetheless, life goes on. And the guy at security let me run all of my liquids to my family who was thankfully still on the other side of security (also a good idea to have them stay until you have successfully made it through security).
Anyway, now that I’m through I am enjoying some coffee and preparing for the next long few hours going from flight to flight. There’s obviously no such thing as a direct flight so I recommend having your little itinerary printed out for you, thanks mom! And bringing a good book and snacks will definitely help too.
Time to board! Can’t wait to meet everyone and get to know my way around.. lots of time before that happens though. In an hour I will have completed 1/3 of my flights, the longest being 8 hours.
Hasta luego!
Catey
