I had just gotten used to living in America. Orlando was not only my home for the spring and fall semesters, but I got to build a whole different life there staying during winters and summers. With all that love for the city, you can imagine I have also acquired a lot of stuff, right? And by a lot, I mean that I have filled up the largest room from PublicStorage one can rent.
How do you take all of your life to Paris? I am imagining taking the support from my Rollins friends to help me out through the tough times. Taking all my professors’ opinions that actually give me a lot to look forward in Paris. Taking my coaches’ advices that this will assist me in life more than sports. Taking my parents’ calls on how to succeed everyday. All of that sounds like more than a few clothes to take, right?
Studying abroad requires preparation and organization. Am I taking enough? Some will ask me for proof, recommendations and a series of documents. Do I have the necessary ones? Are my grades and experience at the level required by the program I chose? Analyzing everything I am asked for and see if I fit in with what is needed sounds very overwhelming. If something is missing, I should double-check the availability and also all my deadlines. Do I have all I need? Or do I find all of these during this last week before my trip?
So eventually what do you take to your study abroad semester?
I think I have read approximately 20 different blogs about what to take, how to pack and what you won’t use. Hell, how am I supposed to know what I am not going to use if I am a week away from the trip? My solution? I just grabbed two suitcases and threw the stuff I have been wearing the most. Hopefully this works.
