During my time here in London, I have been fortunate enough to travel around to different countries! Everywhere in Europe is easily accessible and fairly cheap to travel to through smaller airlines. About two weeks ago, I was able to travel to Paris to celebrate my birthday with my family! My mom used to live there, so having her take me around and hearing her stories from her adventures there was incredible.
Since she was a fashion designer, it’s always fun to hear her perspective on the newest trends; especially in a city as fashionable as Paris. So after spending the weekend there, here are the top trends I noticed for Spring 2018!
- Studded Bags or Shoes
Bling yourself out this spring! So many French women wore simple outfits, but made themselves stand out with subtle gold accents on their shoes or purse. I even bought my own pair of studded booties at this amazing department store there, Galleries Lafayette! A few simple studs are all it takes to turn an outfit from boring to glam.
2. Pastel Colors
As I’m sure you’ve seen all over the runway, pastels are the new ‘it’ color. From lilac to ballerina pink, women were turning the Parisian gray skies into a brighter days just by wearing pastels. Layer a few bright colors on top of each other for a funkier look.
3. Clear Plastic Raincoat
This trend may seem a bit out there, but on a rainy day there were tons of women wearing clear plastic raincoats. The trend grew on me when I realized I could see the cute outfit the woman had put underneath their raincoat! If you’re feeling risky, give it a try!
4. Red Blouses
Making a statement with a red blouse or tee is a fun way to stand out this Spring. Try wearing all black, white or gray with just a pop of a red T-shirt to make your wardrobe a little brighter.
5. Oxford Shoes
Oxfords are everywhere in Paris right now. There’s some with platforms, some with holes or studs, and others that go for a simpler look. Find a pair that speak to you and embrace the Parisian style!
Well there ya have it! I know this isn’t typical for what a study abroad blog is about, but since fashion is such an integral part of who I am I thought I’d share how much the fashion in Europe affected me. Hope you enjoy!
Joy
Loved seeing all the beautiful fashion pictures! Glad to hear you are enjoying your time abroad and traveling all around!
