City life in Madrid has been an adventure every day. And on top of that, Madrid is surrounded by some beautiful countryside. This picture was taken in the rural town of Cercedilla, which was easily accessible by train and included with our metro passes. It was so refreshing after our first few weeks in Madrid to be surrounded by nature and fresh air, with a just few close friends. Many of the fields were covered in wildflowers, and we encountered some animals, including these in the picture and even some horses. We enjoyed a beautiful moment of stillness and connection with nature once we reached the top of a mountain and had a picnic. During our time in Madrid, we’ve had myriad different experiences, and connection with the Spanish countryside was one of the most rewarding.
