While on the Verano Español study abroad I had the opportunity to travel to Segovia. Segovia is a small town in Spain now for its history of Roman influence. This town was taken iver by the Roman Empire and the architecture is a testament to that. Segovia has a large aqueduct that was used to run water to the city. It still stands today and is in use. By far my favorite activity was climbing the huge amount of steps to reach the top of the fortress in Segovia . It was a breathtaking view at the top , as seen in the photo above . Here it was simply easy to understand why the population of Segovia although small has so much pride for the town. You could see the buildings and the castle you could see the huge pieces of countryside . You could see the many reasons why this city is a place of tourism. It has so much to offer. While wondering the streets we saw a wedging party happily dancing. We saw children running and we saw old couples holding hands. It was truly a Moment meant for the movies. A scene a director would create to have people wanderlust after Spain. It was so different from the hustle and bustle of Madrid, a large city with a booming population. Even though it was only about an hour away you felt as if you were in a completely different place . It showed me just what I wanted out of this trip. How different cultures come into one country to create something magical. The view and the memories were worth The hike up the spiral staircase and the heavy breathing that came along with that . My day in Segovia will be something I will never forget .
