This photo was taken near the historic city of Salamanca, Spain up in the mountains surrounding a beautiful quaint little town named Candelario. Upon arrival in Candelario we were pleasantly surprised and mesmerized by the natural beauty of the town. Cozily situated between several mountains, it did not take long for a group of us to decide to head out to reach the snowcapped peaks in the distance. Hiking through these woods was very unique and serene. To make the trip more exciting we decided to deviate from the marked trail. Much to our relief, after a few hours of uphill hiking we stumbled across this beautiful waterfall and pool area in the river and decided that we could not pass it up. The water, freshly melted from the peaks of the mountains, was frigid yet refreshing. Unfortunately, we did not make it to the snow we saw on the peaks from Candelario but it was a hike to remember. I think it goes without a doubt that everyone on the trip had a great time and personally, I would love to return one day if the opportunity arises.
