The Candelario Weekend has been my favorite part of my study abroad thus far. When in Candelario, we took numerous hikes up mountain trails, explored the quiet streets, and talked to locals about the town itself. We also took an excursion to an abandoned town named Granadilla. I really enjoyed walking around the town and enjoying the nice weather and classic Spanish architecture that it had to offer. Perhaps my favorite part of the trip was during one of my hikes when we stopped to enjoy the views. From there, you could see most of the valley while being completely immersed into nature. Candelario was amazing for a variety of reasons, but it’s relaxed and natural vibes were far and away the best part of the experience.
