The study abroad semester is almost over, classes are starting to get a little harder, but I had a great month of November. During the last month here, I didn’t travel much because I wanted to finish discovering Rome. On the first weekend of November I went to Florence with some friends because I felt like it was something to do a second time before leaving. During the weekend trip to Florence we did some wine tasting, ate some Florentine steak and visited some monuments. On the second week of November I had a friend come visit me for 2 weeks, so we walked around Rome trying new authentic restaurants, gelaterias, and visiting monuments every day. In the process of trying new restaurants we found amazing restaurants like “La Taverna 48” and we tasted the best gelato’s in Rome. One day while walking around Rome I found this little “trattoria” in the middle of nowhere, it was isolated and was pretty small but there was a huge line of people waiting to eat there so I came back the next day before the restaurant opened so I could be sure of eating there and I ordered rigatoni with “Bolognese” and it was the best Rigatoni with “Bolognese” I’ve ever had. Although I thought I knew Rome very well by the end of the first month I proved myself to be wrong. I realized that in 3 months I would never be able to discover everything since there are so many good restaurants and places to visit. The last week of November I decided with my roommates that we should celebrate thanksgiving since we will only celebrate thanksgiving in Rome once in our lives, so we bought a turkey, potatoes, and etc. The dinner was great and we had lots of fun during that dinner. In the first week of December I knew that it would be my last week to do things since the next week would be finals’ week so I bought many Italian ingredients like truffles, truffle oil and etc. so I could cook Italian dishes back home.
