As an international student I have had the opportunity of leaving my “home” before. I have had the opportunity to see a new place and attempt to belong a new culture. When K moved from Mexico to the US, it was a completely different experience. I did not want to move to the US, I did not want to leave my life behind and I did not have a choice. Having the amazing opportunity to study abroad in London is exciting; however, because of my previous experience, it is also terrifying. Because of who I am and the experiences I have had, I am grateful for having this chance to see a city that I have dreamt of visiting all of my life. I know that it is up to me to have the positive attitude to make the most out of this opportunity. It is one that will make me grow and allow me to be more independent as well as a better global citizen.
