First month in LondonĀ
I can’t believe a month already flew by! I have been a justing to life in London quite well. The weather is the biggest change for me. Going from 80 degrees and sunny to 50 and rainy has been an adjustment. I have learned to appricate the unique weather London has to offer. Life in a big city like London has been amazing. Before arriving, I thought London was going to be extremely intimadating. At first, it was but taking the time to slowly explore my surroundings it is actually quite easy to get around. At first, I avoided the tube for fear of getting hopelessly lost and now I am almost taking it daily. You can always find new and amazing places to visit. I always enjoy walking around with no particular desetination and seeing what I kind find. There are many different subcultures in London. Like New York City, London has many different boroughs for you to explore and expierence many cultures’ food, clothing, and social settings. You can experience a culture of a whole other country without even having to leave the city. China town has been a favorite of mine.
The classes have been great so far! I was very nervous about the teaching style at a different university in a different country. It is very similar to the teaching style at Rollins. My classes meet once a week for two hours (With the exception with my film class where we have an extra meeting to view the movie). The classes are relatively small and are split between a lecture and open disscussions with the professor. This is great becuase I have the oppurtnity to get to know my professor and clasmates and vice versa.
London has been a great so far at pushing out of my comfort zone. I am constanly learning and growing. It has been amazing seeing all of what London has to offer and I feel like I have onyl scraped the surface. I am exciting to see what the next couple of months will bring! (Maybe I’ll finally get the hang of what side of the street I should be looking at when I cross the street)
