Last week, a group of colleagues and I traveled to Singapore to see what the city with such a rich multicultural dynamic has to offer. The first half of our visit contained tours of the city and the different cultures engrained throughout such as Little India, Chinatown, and the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple. We also visited scenic destinations such as the indoor garden and the Southern Ridges, which offered breathtaking views. The second half of our trip contained indoor visits to Terra SG Pte Ltd and NUS. During free time, some of my colleagues and I used our new skills and knowledge of Singapore’s public transportation system to explore modern pop culture at Marina Bay Sands, along with the many, many malls that Singapore has to offer.
These visits allowed for us to see first hand the beauty of these cultures and religions and how they’re deeply engrained into everyday life for Singaporeans. I was fascinated by their ability to have cultural differences and be able to live in such harmony, which is something that my home country deals with immensely. The visits to Terre SG Ltd and NUS allowed me to see the steps that Singapore are taking to make their country efficient both environmentally and through education.
