Reflections on Malaysia
My first impressions of Malaysia were its vast, green landscape and massive mountains. Upon arriving in Kuala Lumpur, it became very apparent that the city was much more architectually diverse than Singapore. The city was not composed of seemingly endless skyscrapers, but rather a mix of impressively tall buildings and shorter residential areas mixed within. It was also apparent that the city of Kuala Lumpur was older, and experienced more wear and tear; however, it also featured the bright and shiny architecture of a modern city. Visiting Kuala Lumpur after Singapore allowed for me to compare and contrast the two, and see the visual and cultural differences between the cities.
