Singapore has gained global recognition for its commitment to integrating nature into its urban landscape, enriching green spaces and harmonizing the city with the environment. Gardens by the Bay serves as a powerful symbol of sustainable urban development. Its innovative design incorporates renewable energy systems, water management techniques, and green building practices, setting a precedent for eco-friendly urban planning worldwide. The gardens are observed as the nations first steps to transform its “Garden City” to a “City in a Garden”.
The time I spent exploring Gardens by the Bay will be cherished for the rest of my life. The plants seemed to hold a symbiotic relationship with the humans that visited the domes, as we provide the Carbon Dioxide necessary to carry out photosynthesis, the plants release the purest oxygen ready to be inhaled by visitors. As the plants flourished and thrived, I relished in the fresh oxygen they released, all the while admiring their beauty.
The diversity among the visitors was simply astounding, as people from all around the world flooded into the domes. Although different, there was no feeling of segregation or tension from any party. Every ethnic group I observed that day seemed to be living in harmony with one another, all enjoying one thing, nature.
