When visiting Malaysia, one of my favorite parts was the locals, similarly to Singapore. We attended a lecture at Uni Malaya where we were introduced to students our age. These students were so kind and taught us so many cultural differences and similarities. They met up with us later for dinner, and we formed close relationships with them. It was so interesting to hear about their cultural norms, what is trending, and how we love some of the same things. Something that stood out to me is how much American media they consume. They knew about almost all of our trends, but some of theirs we had never heard of. It was so fun learning about their school life while visiting their college, and then getting to know them on a more personal level at dinner. We were so sad to leave each other and I will definitely be back to visit them and Malaysia!
