So far on this trip, the past two days have been some of my favorites. Yesterday we had the opportunity to walk around Alishan National Park and explore the high altitudes of Taiwan. Some of the trees were extremely old and others were very tall and straight. The park felt like a magical forest and the views were incredible, even though there was so much fog at that elevation. Driving to the destination was an experience in itself because we were essentially driving on the sides of cliffs to get to the top, giving us scary yet beautiful views the entire time. I was also surprised to see all the small towns and villages that we passed along the route to the top. There would be small areas on the sides of mountains with about 200-500 people, which is not something you see often in America, especially Florida or New Jersey where I am from. Finally, I had the chance to have sushi for the first time for dinner yesterday and I found it to be delicious. It was different than American sushi as there was not as much emphasis on the rolls and more on all different types of fish, but it was delicious.
