Visiting the Taiwan National Palace Museum has been the highlight of my trip so far. As an avid fan of museums, I have visited many across the United States and Europe. This museum featured many items that stood out to me both for their immaculate level of detail and the painstaking processes required to create them. It felt different from nearly all the museums I’ve visited. I had little idea that such an appreciation and dedication to intricate art existed in China and Taiwan. So many of the pieces in the museum had taken many years to complete, yet could fit in the palm of your hand. This was incredible to me, as it demonstrated the true dedication and appreciation for art. Rather than focusing on producing as many items as possible, the artists and craftsmen of the time seemed to genuinely seek perfection in their work. This was especially evident in the more intricate pieces, which were so detailed that nothing further could be added.
