While wandering aimlessly through Taipei City, my roommate and I came across a small street market hidden within the alleys. We decided to explore the market and were overwhelmed by the variety of food and their accompanying scents. We then tried to find a spot for dinner and perused several menus. Instantly, a restaurant stood out to us because it had a large fish display in front of it. Both my roommate and I, being from Florida, love fish and were astounded when we realized that the entire stand was so fresh it had no “fishy” smell. After entering the restaurant, we ordered a variety of dishes, from shrimp to salmon belly sashimi. While I enjoy sashimi in Florida, this was unlike anything I’ve ever had before. The fish tasted unbelievably fresh, and the shrimp was exceptionally tender. We had multiple courses and the entire meal was around $16 USD for the two of us. It was my favorite meal of the trip and one I’ll remember for a long time.
