Its almost been a couple weeks since I arrived back home and I’m glad to be back. Don’t get me wrong I had a wonderful, beyond amazing time in London and will go back in a heart beat, but there is nothing quite like home and the holidays. London is an amazing city with a lot of history and character, but spending three months there was a long time. It got cold and dark towards the end of my time there and there was very little sun which made it easy to miss home and especially Rollins. Though, I already miss taking the tube to places, the cheapness of the grocery stores and the chips. But now back in America I am able to be with my cats, friends, and my family, it is also really nice to use my phone whenever I want again, because I didn’t have a plan over in England. Despite the fact that it is about 20-30 degrees colder at home than in London there is sun here (Connecticut) and its nice to feel the sun again. I was able to go to many other countries during this semester which was a fantastic opportunity and I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone I meet. I am looking forward to going back to Rollins in January to finally be back in the warmth and to get back on schedule with the classes and even the homework (which I actually missed). Overall I would definitely recommend that people study abroad in London, but maybe not at Queen Mary. Part of this is because I didn’t necessarily think QMUL was the best school. It was in a bit of a run down location in London (though the nearest tube stop had great lines), I also thought a majority of the people who worked there were mean and unhelpful, and the campus itself had really bad lighting which was odd because the sun sets at like 3 pm in the winter so you would think they would have better lights. But overall I am satisfied with my decision to study abroad and would definitely do it all over again if asked. I am going to miss the London atmosphere, but it is time to go back to Rollins.
