Hello Everyone,
We are right around the time of only two months left which is nothing short of scary. Time has flown by and I can’t quite wrap my head around how little time I have left. Two months may sound like a long time, but it is short. I have so much I still want to do and so many places I still have to see.
I just got back from my mid-semester break which was incredible. I flew to Fiji (yes, FIJI!!!) to meet up with Erin and her two older sisters that flew in from New Jersey. Fiji has been one of those places I have always dreamed of since I was little as it was my families desktop background that looked fake. The clear water, white sand beaches and fishes that were every color of the rainbow. This one of the most amazing places I have ever been.
We had a 7 hour travel time from flying from Dunedin to Christchurch then flew into Nadi, Fiji. At the airport we were greeted by a man that was with our hotel that had our names on a sign. We converted money through the ATM and set off for five days of relaxation. We stayed on the main island the first night, waited for her sisters to land in the morning then took a 45 minute boat to a secluded island resort (it was a dream!) where we were greeted with a welcome song and the staff dancing. After four days of island hopping, snorkeling, tanning and visiting a raft in the middle of the ocean our time at Beachcomber Resort and Spa was coming to an end. It was absolutely amazing and the staff became family by the end of the trip. We also met so many young travelers at the resort who we still keep in touch with. Once we returned home we spend the weekend in Queenstown, NZ where we went to wine tastings, roamed around town, and ate at amazing restaurants. Overall, mid-semester break was a dream even through now my skin is peeling off from being so sunburnt 🙂
Until next time..
