I am currently sitting in the airport with all my luggage, leaving Dunedin officially and heading to Wellington for a week to shadow at a medical imaging office. Last week I was in Sydney visiting a friend who lives there and I absolutely loved the city. Sydney may have been my favorite place that I have visited while abroad. I did not have high expectations before I went, so needless to say it met all my expectations and more. The city had great food, people, public transportation, weather, beaches, and much more. It was a great way to end my final weeks abroad. I hope one day I will be able to return to Sydney and explore even more in and around the city.
Leaving Dunedin was very nostalgic. I did not have enough time to get a proper final last walk in around the city which was a little sad. I will greatly miss some of the restaurants and cafes around the city. I will miss the peninsula and all the great beaches. But I have officially accepted that it is time to go home. I had an unbelievable experience and learned a lot in my time here. I have never done so much traveling before and have learned to love it. In the future I hope to be able to travel even more. I have become even more motivated to see parts of western Europe and learn about the culture in all the different countries.
NEXT PARAGRAPH IS IMPORTANT:
I highly recommend that anyone who even considers going abroad should fully commit to it and never look back. If done right, it will arguably be the greatest time of your life to date. The freedom to do whatever you want (to a certain extent) and the opportunity to explore new places is an unmatched combination that not everyone is blessed with being able to do. It is an opportunity to test yourself and and find out who you really are as an individual. A chance to learn your strengths and weaknesses. The abroad experience is all about what you make of it. Use it as an opportunity to try new things and learn about culture, other people, and most importantly yourself.
