Well the end is imminent.
I am (FINALLY) done with finals. I went on one last adventure to Sydney with my friends, where I took a tour of the opera house. Went to the Sydney Westfield tower, and did ten Coogee to Bondi coastal walk. It’s crazy that I only have one full day left in Australia.
As I sit here figuring out how to fit all my shit in 2 checked bags, I feel accomplished. I thought I was going to be mostly sad leaving. If I’m being honest, I am sad about leaving my routine, my friends, the places I’ve frequented. However, I am happy about all the things I did, places I’ve seen, people I’ve met. After five months, I’m also excited about going home and talking about my experience with everyone. I think I’m too excited…I bumped my return flight 2 days earlier. So instead of leaving on Monday I’m leaving Saturday. I’m also excited to see my family, dog, and best friends and spend Christmas and New Years with them.
This has been the best five months of my life. It feels like yesterday that I was boarding the plane to Cairns, excited for what’s to come. It has exceeded my expectations. If I can give my # 1 piece of advice about studying abroad, JUST DO IT. You learn a lot about the world, others, and yourself. It is also a great opportunity to see a part of the world you haven’t seen yet.
See ya stateside!
Cheers,
Fabi
