Being forced to wear a star seems so little but I believe mentally it can be very traumatic. I don’t believe that people should be separated from each other or forced to wear something to show that they are different. I have a hard time coming to terms with Hitler having so much influence on such a large community to convince them that they should separate people based on their religion and how they look. I find it interesting with how the Berliners reacted with to the Jews being forced to wear the star and all of the public humiliation Jews had to endure.
I agree, but it was also a social partitioning from the public. As Hitler came to power he vehemently persecuted the Jews and used them as a scapegoat for almost every aspect of the German hardship. The star served to partition people off from society, people lost friends and neighbors simply because they were branded as “lesser”.
