While living in Madrid, I have discovered an incomparable level of friendliness and hospitality in the people in Spain. On the first night staying in my new apartment building with my host family, one of the neighbors was exceptionally friendly and helpful in finding my roommate and I a good restaurant to go to for dinner that night. Several weeks later when I was locked outside of the building, the same woman let me in the door, remembered who I was and asked me how I liked Spain so far and if I enjoyed the restaurant.
I discovered the same quality of people when I visited Ibiza this past weekend. Shortly after landing, my friends and I were lost trying to find the place that we were staying at. We knocked on someones apartment door to ask for directions and the friendly woman who lived there showed a tremendous amount of hospitality to us. She let us come inside to charge our phones and use her wifi and her computer to look up the information we needed. We ended up spending almost two hours at her place, chatting and getting to know each other. The picture attached is the view of Ibiza from the back porch that we sat at while there. The kindness of the people here in Spain has been unlike any other place I have ever been.
