I choose to study a semester abroad in New Zealand at the University of Otago. Nothing has solidified my decision more than sitting with this new group of friends, who were all strangers just a few hours ago. We found some reasonably priced food in the international terminal(which looks nicer than most malls). When you get past security you’ll see big screens, a Gucci store on the right and endless shops. Don’t be alarmed. Turn right and straight ahead is a food court with an awesome pizza station – 800 degrees. I highly recommend it. The margherita was great. Also remember to bring a water bottle(empty through security) as most airports don’t sell a small bottle of water for less than $5. As we pry our eyes open, the energy is not harmed by the lack of sleep and continuous flights and delays. The spirit is strong as we await our orientation in Nadi, Fiji. I’m not sure if we are more excited for New Zealand or Fiji. Either way we will be eating with a local village, staying at a 5 star resort, learning how to husk coconuts and swimming with manta rays in less than 24 hours. Kia ora Fiji!
