Hola from Madrid! I have experienced and visited a variety of wonderful places already in my short time here. Madrid, with its central location, makes traveling around Spain by train quick and easy. Each place offers unique sightseeing attractions. One of my favorite trips so far was visiting Valencia with a small group of friends for the weekend. It was nice to head to a coastal town and spend a portion of the trip relaxing on the beautiful beaches. The first night we headed to Plaza del Reina, the main plaza in the old town area, for a bite to eat and to get a feel for the city. From our restaurant we could see the Valencia Cathedral and take in its beauty. In the morning we walked around the city and set out to see the main attractions. Valencia is quite different than any other city in Spain, in that it has a combination of both old and new buildings. On our way to the City of Arts and Sciences, we walked through the long stretch of park called Jardins Del Turia. All of a sudden we came upon a group of modern complexes that make up the City of Arts and Sciences. The site had some of the craziest and most futuristic looking architecture I had ever seen. Overall, Valencia was a wonderful trip and I would highly recommend the city to anyone traveling around the area. It is such a fun time to travel and experience new places with friends and build life long memories!
