One of my most favorite cultural experiences was going the final Real Madrid game of the season at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. I am a big sports fan, but I never really understood the obsession about soccer until I came here. The atmosphere of the crowd and love they have for the Real Madrid team is indescribable. Most soccer games are low scoring, but not this one! Madrid won with a final score of 7-3. The fans around me were extremely loud and energetic, chanting and cheering on the team the entire game. I now have a better understanding of the sport and what it means to the people of Spain! I can’t wait to experience more and see what the next three weeks have in store for me.
