When I found out that there was no Thanksgiving break, I was very disappointed. However, when I heard that all of the CAPA students get a week off at the mid-point of the semester I was ecstatic. Some of my roommates and a couple other friends decided to travel around Europe during this week. The three places we decided to go to were Amsterdam in the Netherlands, Ibiza in Spain, and Milan in Italy. We stayed in Amsterdam for 3 days, Ibiza for 4, and Milan for 2. We decided to go to Amsterdam because there was an EDM music festival called AFM and it had some of the biggest DJs in the world preform. The even was from 9pm till 6am so we spent most of the first day in Amsterdam preparing by resting and finding some tasty food places around Amsterdam. As this is technically a school blog for a scholarship, that’s probably all I’m going to say about my experience in Amsterdam. My flight to Ibiza was with RyanAir. If anyone takes anything out of this blog post, remember this. You need to check in to your flight over 2 hours beforehand or they will charge you 60 dollars to board your flight when flying with RyanAir. Once we got to Ibiza we checked into our all inclusive resort and partook in all of the food and drinks that we could ever want. Sadly, it was raining pretty much the whole time so we spent most of the time indoors at the restaurant and bars at our resort. We then took an Easy Jet flight to Milan and stayed in a really nice AirBnb. Another tip about flying with Easy Jet, they charge 60 dollars for a second carry on which I was also charged. In Milan, we found that there is really only a few churches and some shopping to do. That ended up being a good thing because we were so exhausted from the week before. Overall, Fall break was one of the best weeks of my life and I’ll remember the experiences I had during it forever.
