By now, it has been two months since I first arrived. Now I know how to speak a little bit of Italian, I’ve been taking Italian classes every school day. I am able to communicate at the restaurant and at the supermarket and I am able to understand most of what I read. I know the city pretty well by now and can get anywhere without a map. At the beginning of this month my family came to visit for 10 days which was great because I was able to guide them around and show them the best restaurants and etc. We visited all the historic monuments again and we moved around Italy with a car. We went to Napoli, Pescara and Florence. We visited each place for a day and it was amazing. In Pescara, we walked around the city and tried some local food which was mostly seafood. In Napoli, we walked around and ate at the most famous pizza place in Italy, I had one of the best pizzas in my life. During the trip to Florence, we visited some monuments and tasted the Florentine steak which is a speciality from Florence and it was one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. All this to say that we had a great time. After my parents left It was midterm week so it was a stressful and busy week for me therefore I didn’t get to do much. For fall break I ended up going back home and had a great time, it felt good to be back home. I had a lot of stories to tell my friends of my study abroad here in Rome. When I got back to Rome I went to Barcelona for the weekend with my roommates and celebrated halloween there. The city was beautiful and there was so much to do. I visited all the historic monuments and went to the beach, even if it was a little cold. This month has been amazing and I am looking forward to this last month in Rome, and I hope it will be even better.
