Spring break in October? I think yes! And it being two weeks?? Absolutely awesome! You can definitely say it was spent tremendously well. The first week of break was spent in Canberra (the capital of Australia). Well first off, I definitely thought the capital was Sydney?? But I guess not! Seeing the capital city was pretty cool. I got to learn a lot of Australia’s history, and about the country itself that I did not know before coming here. It was so interesting to see the parliament house, museums and even some memorial sites of veterans. Taking the time to actually sidy the country that you are staying in is so important, which is what I realized this weekend trip. It was so cool to see these things and even take the time to compare to my home country. I even got to go to a concert and see one of my favorite artists! The second week was spent in Brisbane, up north in Queensland. And what an amazing beach week it has been. We saw the gold coast with the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever seen. The water was so blue, the sand so soft. It was so nice top just lay on the beach, soaking in some sun and not have to worry about school for a second. Just pure relaxation. We saw other attractions such as Stradbroke island, the rainforest (my first one ever) and even went kayaking in a creek. I even tried new things such as emu, crocodile, and kangaroo jerky. (Kangaroo was not the best tasting, but you have to try at least once in AustraLia!) I definitely do not want to leave this place. I could actually stay here forever! It was honestly such an amazing experience and the people I experienced this with made it even more amazing. We took these two weeks to strengthen our friendships and create as many memories as we could! I got to end the week in Brisbane falling on my 21st birthday so that was very exciting to be celebrating my birthday Aussie style! Spring break has definitely made this trip so awesome, becoming the highlight of my stay in Australia!
