My semester abroad was amazing. It was an experience I believe everybody should live at least once in a lifetime. The last few weeks of the semester were a little busy but did not stop me from having fun and discovering new places in Rome. With my friends I discovered some new restaurants that were great.
One of the restaurants I did was a very special pizza place called “Sei Pizza Illuminati” which was known as the best place for pizza in Rome and was also known for their creativity when it comes to the shapes of the pizza and the mix in flavors. My friends and I loved the pizzas they offered so much that we ended up going 4 times in the last two weeks of the semester. On the last day of finals my roommates and I decided to walk around the city and visit all the monuments one last time. The night of my last final, my roommates and I decided to go to our favorite gelato place called “Della Palma” which offers 150 different flavors. Later that night we all went back to the dorm and finished packing all of our things.
The next morning, we all realized this was it, it was the moment to say goodbye. We realized the whole semester had gone by way too fast and that everybody was going to go back to their usual lives. It was a sad moment for all of us since we had all become friends by the end of the semester. By noon everyone had left the apartment and were at the airport or already on their flight back home. Once at the airport, I was ready to say goodbye to Rome and was impatient to see my family and friends back home. The trip to get back was long but I was able to get some sleep in the plane. When I landed home, my friends were there to pick me up with big smiles on their faces. Now that I look back to my semester, I am really glad I did this semester abroad program and feel blessed to have discovered such a wonderful culture.
