I can’t believe it, almost a month living in Italy! Time really flies! Not even a month here though and so much has happened…everything has been going amazing; from the beautiful places I have visited, to amazing food, new people I have met, extremely interesting and engaging classes, and practicing my Italian! Not even a month here and I feel like I have visited many places! I have been to different beautiful little towns, last weekend we had a group field trip for one of my classes to Venice (which we had a wonderful time and unique experience), and this weekend my friends and I are going to Pompeii. Also, I feel like I have explored Rome more in depth. Also, the food…oh wow, the food…I have never eaten so much pasta daily in my life! But, not gonna lie, it has been amazing. I have eaten so many delicious dishes throughout these past weeks, having totally different experiences with each dish (including 4 course meals that I am not used to, but I love it). Also, I have met so many people. I have a very nice group of friends and we have had many fun experiences together. At first, it was kind of hard to fit into a group of friends because I am the ONLY Rollins student in the Trinity program, and most of the others came to the program with groups of friends from their college, but I was able to adjust and fit it. Also, I absolutely love my classes. They are very unique, engaging and interesting. Like I said, for one of them, we went to Venice for the weekend, and for one of the others we are going to Bologna for a weekend as well. Not only that, but for all of my classes we will sometimes have on-site lectures, meaning we will walk around Rome for lecture during class! My Italian class is also going pretty well…I feel that Spanish being my first language has really helped because both languages are similar in many aspects. I have been trying to practice it everywhere I go. I do feel that reading, writing and listening to it is much easier than speaking it (that has been my biggest struggle), but practice makes perfect! These are just some of the many updates from my beautiful experience in Rome…there are many more to come! Ciao!
