The aspect of the US is to have a voice and raise your own opinion. This country is so independent which makes people more outstanding and have their own voice. It made me realize that it is important to behave like other natives. Having a voice makes the person stronger and unique, and the United States is one of the most unique and freedom countries that I feel. People know how to express themselves to others. In addition, in order to have your own voice, it is important to be responsible and many people in the United States have responsibility.
In my perspective, I strongly feel that everyone has a voice when I am studying abroad from Japan. From my experience at school in Japan, they see more cooperativeness than being individualistic. Everyone wears the same uniform, takes the same classes, and eats the same lunch at school. It is important to be not independent at school so many students struggle later in their life because they have not learned how to express and have their own voice. Personally, it helped me a lot to study in the US learning how to express myself to others. I respect and appreciate US culture to be independent which makes people who have their own voice and responsibility.
As an international student, I see the US as a more free country than Japan. Also, it is known in Japan that the US is a more individualistic country. They accept differences and since the US is created from many immigration, they have more variety of people which makes this environment of freedom. However, freedom always has the same amount of responsibility. The US has grown as a powerful country, but they always take risks but also huge responsibility. In addition, like the US has a huge variety of people, it makes it sometimes hard to live for everyone because people take time to understand others and accept them. But this is one of the greatest things to develop a country’s globality.
This exercise helps me to remember when I started to study abroad in the US. I have so much fear of being in a different environment but I also have confidence that I will be fine. Like I did in the US, I will find their speciality in the country which makes my experience gain and have more perspectives seeing the world. In addition, it makes me realize how I see the US now and I am excited to see how I see the US differently after my study abroad in the UK.
